Biography

Kai is a creative leader working at the intersection of brand, storytelling, design, and technology. With over 18 years of experience, he has helped shape meaningful brand experiences for some of the world’s most recognized companies. In 2024, he joined AKQA as Executive Creative Director, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in creating future-forward brand work for clients including VISA, Google, Nike, IWC and Porsche Motorsports.


Before AKQA, Kai was Global Executive Creative Director at the mobile bank N26 where he led the award-winning in-house creative studio, overseeing brand and marketing creative across 24 international markets. Earlier in his career, Kai held leadership roles at R/GA, Jung von Matt, and Heimat, where he developed campaigns and digital experiences for brands like Google, Nike, adidas, Hornbach, Mercedes-Benz and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. His work is driven by blending creativity with innovation and cultural relevance, and by bringing together teams to deliver bold, impactful ideas.

Kai’s work has received over 160 awards from national and international festivals including Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clio, and the Art Directors Club. He has served on juries for the Lovies, ADC, and New York Festivals and is a member of the German Art Directors Club.
